If you cant break the constitution....avoid it!

The First Amendment to the United States Constitution states “ Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. ”

I'm sure all those people who were peacfully assembling in the streets of San Francisco to see the olympic torch trust their government now. Well they didnt get to see it, in the only stop that the torch was making in north america. Here is a description of what happened to the torch. The first torchbearer began running at the appointed hour from McCovey Cove, in the shadow of AT&T Park. But after just 300 meters, the runner ducked into a warehouse. The flame was smuggled to Van Ness Avenue, miles from the scheduled route. The "relay" came to an unceremonious conclusion on an on-ramp to the Golden Gate Bridge. Closing ceremonies were canceled, and the flame was hustled to the San Francisco Airport.
